The Coed Sailing Team Placed Third At The Gill National Championship

St. Mary's City, Md. - The Boston College coed sailing team placed third at the 2014 Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship, hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland this past week. Yale won the event while Georgetown placed second.
A-division sailed in 420s and completed six races today. B-division sailed in FJs and completed five races for an event total of 15 races in both divisions. The sailors competed on windward-leeward four leg courses today.
The Metropolitan Sailing League Trophy, which was first presented in 1971, was given to the BC team for placing third. The Eagles started the day in sixth place, after starting the prelims in 12th place and eventually qualifier for the finals with a nine place finish on the second day of racing.
Sailing for Boston College: Raul Rios '16 with Shelby Hamilton '14 and Allison Ferraris '17 in A-division and Erika Reineke '16 and William Bailey '15 with Elizabeth Barnard '15, Christopher Dwyer '15 and Katherine Wysocki '15 in B-division.
