Sailing Wins Salt Pond Invite

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College sailing team captured first place as well as fifth place in the Salt Pond Invite Regatta, hosted by Rhode Island, the weekend of Sept. 28-19.

The Eagles 1 team earned 148 points while to win the event, while the closest competitor was Roger Williams with 183 points. The second BC team scored 197 points to place fifth in the race.

In the A Division, the Eagles 2 team of Henry Dumke and Emily Vasiliou finished first with 51 points, followed by the team of Maxwell Simmons and Emily Schalka in second place with 63 points.

Marcos Darcy and Caroline Drury placed fifth with 85 points, while Katherine Wysocki was 14th with 146 points.

The team will be back out on the water this week at the Danmark Trophy, the Gardiner Island Invite, the Jesuit School Open and the Smith Trophy Regatta.
