Sailing Wins The Hatch Brown Trophy

The Boston College sailing team won the Hatch Brown Trophy the weekend of Sept. 21-22, in an intersectional regatta hosted by MIT.

The Eagles compiled 320 points, nine points ahead of second place finisher Yale. Navy was third with 389 points, while Tufts registered 394 points and Rogers Williams placed fifth with 405 points.

BC's A Division team of sophomore Raul Rios and senior Shelby Hamilton placed third with 121 points. Rios and Hamilton finished in second twice and third three times in the two-day regatta.

In the B Division, sophomore Erika Reineke, sophomore Riley Calhoun and freshman Alex Palfrey placed first with 94 points, 14 points more than Dartmouth's B Division team. Reineke and Calhoun placed first in two races and third three times. Reineke and Palfrey placed third in the seventh race and sixth in the eighth race.

In the C Division, juniors William Bailey and Katherine Wysocki placed second with 105 points. Yale placed first with 63 points. Bailey and Wysocki finished first in the second, third and fifth race and picked up a second place finish in the ninth and 15th race.
