Sailing Earns Two First Place Finishes

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College sailing team won the Veitor Trophy hosted by Salve Regina this past weekend. The Eagles had 77 points to earn the win while Dartmouth College compiled 99 points for second place.
The Boston College A Division team of freshman Allyson Donahue and senior Caroline Drury placed second in with 41 points. The B Division team of freshman Maxwell Simmons and junior Isabelle Salvaterra placed first with 36 points.
Southern New England Team Race
The team had a successful weekend as the team won the Southern New England Team Race hosted by Connecticut College. The Eagles went 10-4 for the weekend of racing to win the event, while Roger Williams was second with a 9-5 record. Vermont finished third at 9-5, St. Mary's was fourth at 9-5 and the hosts Conn. College placed fifth at -7.
The skippers for the winning Eagles were Raul Rios, William Bailey, Harry Koeppel and Erika Reineke. Shelby Hamilton, Allison Ferraris, Elizabeth Barnard and Alex Palfrey were solid all weekend in the win as the crew.
Boston College will compete next week in the Friis Trophy Team Race Intersectional hosted by Tufts, the Central Series Two hosted by BU, the Southern Series One hosted by Salve Regina and the Team Racing Invite hosted by the Eagles.
