Drew Barksdale - Wide Receiver

Solon HS/Solon, Ohio - 5'11" - 180lbs

Barksdale earned Northeast Ohio Conference honorable mention accolades as a senior captain in 2012. He registered 35 receptions for 564 yards and seven touchdowns during his schoolboy career. Barksdale rushed for 480 yards and five touchdowns and completed 27 passes for 386 yards and seven touchdowns. His team captured consecutive conference championships in 2010 and 2011. He was a three-time Northeast Ohio Conference Scholar Athlete Award honoree and played for head coach Jim McQuaide. Barksdale was recruited by Air Force, Akron and Yale and also starred on the lacrosse field and was offered a lacrosse scholarship at Michigan.

Charlie Callinan - Wide Receiver

St. Peter's Prep/Westfield, N.J. - 6'4" - 215 lbs

Callinan Earned MSG Varsity All-New Jersey Second Team honors as a senior captain and was named to the All-Hudson County First Team in 2012. He played in the 2012 Chesapeake Bowl all-star game and helped the Marauders win four consecutive county championships. He caught 33 passes for 565 yards and 9 touchdowns as a senior. Callinan played for head coach Richie Hansen and was also recruited by Connecticut and Rutgers.

Jack Cottrell - Linebacker/DE

Eden Prairie/Eden Prairie, Minn. - 6'4" - 220 lbs

Cottrell earned Minnesota AP All-State honors as a senior captain and was named an All-Lake Conference performer in 2011 and 2012. He led the Eagles in tackles as a junior and senior and compiled 113 tackles (13 for loss), seven sacks, and three interceptions in his final campaign. He helped lead team to consecutive Class 6A state championships in 2011 and 2012. Cottrell played for head coach Mike Grant and was also recruited by Iowa State and Minnesota. He also captained the basketball team at Eden Prairie.

Truman Gutapfel - Defensive Tackle

Harrison/Harrison, Ohio - 6'3" - 260 lbs

Gutapfel won the 2012 Ohio Division II Anthony Munoz Defensive Lineman of the Year award. He also earned Fort Ancient Valley - Buckeye All-League honors as a senior and garnered First-Team AP Southwest All-District. He received AP All-Ohio special mention laurels as well. Gutapfel played for head coach Kent McCollough. He was also recruited by Akron, Bowling Green and Cincinnati. The defensive tackle amassed over 100 career victories as a high-school wrestler.

John Johnson - Cornerback

Northwestern HS/West Hyattsville, Md. - 6'0" - 175 lbs

Johnson earned First Team All-County and Second Team All-State accolades. He recorded 50 tackles, six tackles for loss, five interceptions, and 13 passes deflected in 2012. He was named team captain for his senior season and was also recruited by Bucknell, Buffalo, UConn, and Lehigh.

Kevin Kavalec - Defensive End

St. Ignatius/Middleburg Heights, Ohio - 6'3" - 240 lbs

He earned First Team AP All-Ohio accolades in 2011 and Second Team AP All-Ohio accolades in 2012. He was a 2012 First Team All-Northeast District and a 2011 and 2012 Cleveland Plain Dealer All-Star. He was an Ohio North-South All-Star Game selection and his team was Ohio Division I State Champion in 2011. He was named captain for his senior season, recorded 24 sacks and 64 tackles for loss in his career and also was recruited by Ohio University.

Marquis Little - Linebacker

Manchester/Manchester, Conn. - 6'3" - 215 lbs

Earned Hartford Courant and Walter Camp All-Connecticut State team honors as a senior at Manchester HS ... earned All-Central Connecticut Conference honors as a senior ... recorded 72 tackles, including eight sacks, and two forced fumbles as senior linebacker ... a versatile, athletic performer who also played quarterback ... rushed 81 times for 609 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games, and completed 74-of-132 passing attempts for 831 yards and eight touchdowns ... played for head coach Marco Pizzoferrato.

Mack Lowrie - Quarterback

Roxbury Latin/Foxboro, Mass. - 6'3" - 195 lbs

He was selected to the "Super 26" All-State team and named to Massachusetts All-State team. He was a three-time First Team NEPSAC All-New England selection and Independent School League MVP. Lowrie was NEPSAC Division C Player of the Year and earned Boston Globe and Herald All-Scholastic accolades. He holds the ISL record for touchdowns in a season with 35 and career totals of 5,600 passing yards, 1,600 rushing yards, and 75 touchdowns. He was a four-year starter in football, basketball, and baseball and was named captain as a senior in football. He was also recruited by UConn, Maryland, NC State, and Virginia.

Matt Milano - Safety

Dr. Philips/Orlando, Fla. - 6'0" - 200 lbs

Milano Earned Orlando Sentinel All-Central Florida Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior safety in 2012 and earned 8A All-State first-team honors. He earned All-Metro Conference honors and Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 10 (Orange, Osceola counties) All-District honors in 2012. Milano served as team captain and registered 100 tackles, including 18 tackles for loss and three sacks. He played for head coach Rodney Wells and was also recruited by Air Force, Arizona, Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio).

Tevin Montgomery - Defensive Tackle

Tabor Academy/Jamaica Plain, Mass. - 6'3" - 295 lbs

He Registered 48 tackles, including four sacks, in 12 games as a senior defensive tackle at Tabor Academy in 2012. He served as team captain and was selected to the U-19 National Football team. Montgomery was invited to participate in the Semper Fidelis All-America Bowl. He played for head coach Bill Hrasky and was also recruited by Maryland, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Connecticut, Rutgers and Temple.

Atem Ntantang - Cornerback

Woodgrove HS/Purcellville, Va - 5'11" - 180 lbs

He earned first team All-Dulles District and All-Region II honors as a senior. He gained 2012 Washington Post All-Met Second Team accolades and totaled 82 tackles, 15 passes defended, and 3 interceptions as a senior. He rushed for more than 900 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He played for head coaches Mike Skinner and Jerry Gordon and was also recruited by Yale, Columbia, Georgetown, and Virginia. He also competed in track and field for the Wolverines.

Joel Rich - Tight end

St. Thomas Aquinas/Paris, Ohio - 6'4" - 230 lbs

Rich earned Associated Press All-State first-team honors as a senior tight end in 2012. He registered 45 career receptions for 620 yards and 15 touchdowns. Rich tallied 213 career tackles, including 15 sacks, five forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries. He served as team captain and earned Ohio Coaches Association All-Ohio All-Academic team honors. He played for head coach Tim Budd.

Tyler Rouse - Running Back

Baker HS/Baldwinsville, N.Y.- 5'9" - 190 lbs

Rouse was Gatorade Player of the Year for New York in 2012 and was named Player of the Year by the New York State Sportswriters Association. He was featured in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd". He rushed for 2,977 yards on 333 carries (8.9 yards per carry) and had 45 touchdowns in 2012. He compiled career totals of 6,941 rushing yards on 807 carries (8.6 yards per carry).

James Walsh - Quarterback

Dublin Coffman HS/Dublin, Ohio - 6'1" - 187 lbs

Walsh threw for 2,038 yards and rushed for 558 yards in 2012. He registered a completion percentage of 60% with 46 total touchdowns in the last two seasons. He was named All-District and All-League in football and baseball and was captain of the football team as a senior. Walsh was a three-year letterman in football, and a four-year letterman in baseball. He was also recruited by Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Ohio, and Toledo.

Myles Willis - Running Back

Marist School/Conyers, Ga. - 5'9" - 185 lbs

Willis earned Georgia AAAA Region 6A All-State Offensive Most Valuable Player honors as a senior quarterback in 2012. He served as team captain and completed 63-of-111 passing attempts for 1,005 yards and nine touchdowns. He registered 221 rushing attempts for 1,181 yards and 18 touchdowns. Willis played for head coach Alan Chadwick and was also recruited by Florida State, Virginia, Wake Forest, Connecticut, Central Florida and Mississippi State.

Louie Addazio - Tight End

Buchholz HS/Gainesville, Fla.- 6'3" - 245 lbs

Addazio is a transfer from Syracuse University. Because of injury, he did not play for the Orange. In high school, he earned Gainesville Sun honorable mention all-area honors as a defensive end in 2009. Used primarily as a blocking tight end, he played in two games during his senior season, recording an eight-yard touchdown catch, before missing the remainder of the season due to shoulder surgery. In 2009, he had four catches for 60 yards and recorded 18 pancake blocks.

 

 

Matt Patchan - Offensive Line

Armwood HS/Tampa, Fla - 6'6" - 304 lbs

Patchan played in 27 games at Florida, starting eight games as a Gator. He made 11 appearances as a true freshman on the defensive line, but switched to the offensive line during the spring of 2009. He did not play his senior season because of injury. In 2011, he played in 12 games, starting at right tackle for the last seven of the regular season. Patchan earned the Scrap Iron Award following his efforts in the Vanderbilt game. Prior to Florida, he was named a USA Today and EA Sports First-Team All-American and selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He was deemed a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and the fourth-ranked offensive tackle by Scout.com.
