Established in 1999 for those individuals who, in the judgment of the Varsity Club Hall of Fame Selection Committee, have demonstrated uncommon dedication and performed exceptional service to Boston College Athletics, both on and off the fields of play. It is in honor of the late Reverend William J. "Father Bill" Donlon, Class of 1931, who excelled as both a student and as a member of the Track & Field team before beginning a lifetime in the service of God. Father Bill also found time to serve his alma mater and the Varsity Club for more than six decades, as club chaplain, secretary, historian, and enthusiastic leader and committee member in many capacities down through the years.
