
Eagles Squeeze Past Hofstra In First Game of Series

BC improves their record to 13-7, Dunning gets her fifth straight win of the season
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y– Boston College won against Hofstra 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in the first leg of a Friday doubleheader. The Eagles improve their record to 13-7 and the Pride go to 5-11 on the season.
It was a defensive battle in this first game of the series, the lone run of the game came right in the top of the first when Sophomore Hannah Slike singled to send Kali Case home after an error from the Hofstra shortstop.
From then on, Sophomore pitcher Abby Dunning took control, she pitched a complete game, and got her fourth shutout of the season. Dunning recorded six strikeouts and allowed just six total hits in 26 total at bats. This was her fifth straight win of the season, her record in starts this season goes to 5-0.
BC Softball will be back later today for the second game of the series against Hofstra.
