Three Eagles Named To All-ACC Academic Team

Three members of the Boston College women's soccer team were named to the All-ACC Academic Team as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference today.
Graduate senior McKenzie Meehan, senior Hayley Dowd and junior Lauren Berman earned a spot on the team. This is the fourth season in which Dowd earned the All-ACC Academic honor and third time for Meehan.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
Meehan, who received her MBA from Boston College in December 2016, leaves The Heights as the program's all-time leader in points, goals and game-winning goals. She became the all-time leader in goals scored as a junior against Pittsburgh. In her final season at BC, Meehan notched her final goal against Virginia to give her 58 career goals and 124 career points.

The speedy forward was named to the 2016 NSCAA All-Southeast Region second team and was a three-time Preseason Hermann Trophy Watch list honoree. Meehan was drafted 34th overall by Sky Blue Football Club out of New Jersey in January in the NWSL Draft.
Dowd, who will graduate from the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences in May, was the Eagles second leading scorer with seven goals and three assists for 17 points. She also had four game-winning goals this past season. She is third on the all-time list for game-winning goals with 14.

A native of Peabody, Dowd is the program's second leading goal scorer with 39 strikes and sixth in points scored with 90.

The Eagles speedy forward will continue her career with the Boston Breakers. She was drafted in January 38th overall in the NWSL Draft.
Berman, a native of Canton, started in the midfield in all 19 games for the Eagles last year. She finished the season as BC's third leading scorer with four goals, eight assists for 16 points. Â She had one game-winning goal and

A two-time Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree and All-ACC honor selection, Berman will earn a degree in sociology in May of 2018.
