
Milano, Willis to Represent BC at ACC Kickoff

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College seniors Matt Milano and Myles Willis will attend the 2016 ACC Kickoff, along with fourth-year head coach Steve Addazio, on Friday, July 22 at the Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C.

Head coaches and student-athletes from ACC Coastal Division schools will be available on Thursday and the head coaches and student-athletes from Atlantic Division teams available on Friday.

Milano was recently named to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List. The award is presented annually to the collegiate defensive player of the year by the Maxwell Football Club. The linebacker from Orlando, Fla., has racked up 83 career tackles, including 20.5 tackles for a loss of 100 yards, In 2015, he led the Eagles with 17.5 tackles for a loss and 6.5 sacks for a loss of 45 yards. He also blocked two punts on the special teams units. Milano collected All-ACC third-team honors from the league's head coaches and honorable mention from the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA). He was also selected as a Pro Football Focus All-American honorable mention.

Willis currently sits fourth on BC's all-time return yards list with 1,613 career yards. He is also fourth with 67 returns in his three years at The Heights. In 33 career games, the Conyers, Ga., native has rushed for 1,064 yards on 215 attempts, scoring four touchdowns. He also has caught one TD pass and returned two kickoffs for scores, including a career-long 98-yarder as a freshman at New Mexico State and a 95-yard return against Syracuse as a sophomore. In his junior campaign, Willis was part of a BC rushing unit that ranked 14th in the nation and second in the ACC with 254.7 yards per game. He returned 34 kickoffs for 895 yards, averaging 26.3 yards/game, third best in the league.

As of Monday, 18 of the 28 had been chosen to a preseason watch list for a national award and a total of 12 were chosen first, second or third team All-ACC in 2015. Among the offensive players in attendance will be six quarterbacks, four running backs, three offensive linemen and one wide receiver. Defensively, six linebackers, three defensive ends, one defensive tackle and three defensive backs will attend. Miami's Vogel is the lone special teams player.
