Eagles Look To Bounce Back vs. Maryland Eastern Shore

Eagles-Hawks tip off at 7 p.m.
THE GAME
• Boston College will host Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. inside Conte Forum.
• BC is coming off of a 79-73 season-opening loss to Nicholls State on Friday night.
• The Eagles never led in that game.
• The Hawks lost a pair of games over the opening weekend by a combined eight points.
• MDES lost its opener at George Washington, 75-71, and its home opener on Sunday to UMBC, 77-73.
THE SERIES
• This will be the third all-time meeting between Boston College and Maryland Eastern Shore on the hardwood.
• The Eagles won the previous two games back in 1989 and 1991.
• BC won the first matchup between the two on November 25, 1989, 102-76.
• The Eagles won the next season as well, 113-64.
• Both of those contests were played in Chestnut Hill.
NEED TO KNOW
• Boston College lost four of its top six scorers from last season.
• Freshman Ty Graves came off the bench in the season opener and led Boston College with 15 points.
• He was 5-for-8 from the floor and 4-for-7 from 3-point land.
• Sophomore Jerome Robinson had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Ten of his points came in the second half.
• Sophomore A.J. Turner added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.
EAGLES LOSE SEASON OPENER TO NICHOLLS STATE
• Freshman Ty Graves led Boston College with 15 points off the bench as the Eagles lost their season opener against Nicholls State, 79-73.
• Graves was 5-for-8 from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.
• Sophomore Jerome Robinson had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Ten of his points came in the second half.
• Sophomore A.J. Turner added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.
• Nicholls State opened things up by scoring 16 of the game's first 17 points.
• The Colonels got the lead up to 37-20 with 5:24 left in the half.
• Boston College closed out the first half with a 13-5 run to cut the deficit to 42-33. Sophomore Jordan Chatman and Graves hit consecutive 3-pointers to end it.
•  BC cut the lead down to 45-39 three minutes into the second half after a Graves 3-pointer, but Nicholls State scored the next four to push the lead back to double digits.
• The Colonels opened up a 64-50 lead, but the Eagles went on a 15-2 run over the next five minutes to make it a 66-65 deficit with 4:01 remaining.
• Robinson pulled up for a jumper to tie it for the first time, 69-69, with 2:28 left but that is as close as BC would get.
• Nicholls State scored the next six points to seal the win.
