Tom Veronneau '70
- A junior starter on coach Bob Cousy's 24-4 NIT runner-up
team of 1968-69, this big man began his career at BC as a
walk-on.
- Fortunately, Cousy saw something in Veronneau, who went on
to set an NCAA field-goal percentage record of 68.7 percent
in 1968-69. Despite finishing with the BC career field-goal
percentage mark, Veronneau was known primarily as a
defensive stopper, guarding the likes of Spencer Haywood and
Wes Unseld during his magical junior campaign.
- He served as team captain as a senior, and gained Academic
All-America second-team honors after the season.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1988.
