Stephanie Tunnera began as an Assistant Athletic Director of Media Relations at Boston College in 2005. Tunnera's duties at Boston College include being the primary contact for women's basketball and women's soccer and the secondary contact for field hockey, lacrosse and softball.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Tunnera worked as the Sports Information Director at Nichols College. While at Nichols, Tunnera was the main contact for the 14 athletic programs. She also served as a member of the Nichols Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and was the liaison on the college branding committee. She also worked as a research assistant at the 2006 Women's Final Four and at the men's regional in 2005 in Worcester.
Prior from entering the college circuit, Tunnera held the title as Director of Media Relations for the Boston Breakers. While with the Breakers, Tunnera managed all print and electronic media inquiries dealing with the players, coaches and overall team.
A graduate of Springfield College with a bachelor's degree in English, Tunnera started in athletics as a freelance writer, general assignment reporter and editor in the sports department of the Boston Herald. For six of her 11 year tenure at the Herald, Tunnera was the high school sports editor and handled page design, assignments and page layout. While there she also wrote an award-winning high school soccer column, Corner Kicks, a lacrosse column and covered the Boston Marathon and a number of Women's NCAA Basketball Tournaments and Final Fours.
