Karl Swanke '80
- An outstanding offensive lineman in football, he excelled as
both a tackle and center and started 33 consecutive games.
- He played in the Blue-Gray All-Star Games as a senior.
- Was 1980 BIG EAST Conference champion in both shot put and
discus and won the 1980 New England indoor shot put
championship with a school record throw of 57' 4-3/4''.
- After receiving his degree in physics, he played seven
seasons with the National Football League's Green Bay
Packers, where he started 63 games as an offensive tackle
and center. He was the Packer's "Man of the Year" in 1985.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1994.
