Troy Stradford '86
- One of the greatest running backs ever to wear Boston
College’s Maroon and Gold, he established a school rushing
record at the time of his graduation with 3,504 yards in his
thrilling varsity career.
- Troy scored 36 touchdowns – 27 rushing and nine as a pass-
receiver – during his tenure at The Heights.
- Co-Captain and All-America tailback for BC’s 1986 Hall of
Fame Bowl champions, he also played in the 1983 Liberty Bowl
and BC’s 1985 Cotton Bowl championship game. His 196 yards
rushing in the Cotton Bowl victory was the best performance
by a running back in a post-season game that year.
- Talented, powerful, and fast, he was a three time All-
America and All-East selection.
- After graduation, he played for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins,
Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Rams. He also played
professionally in Canada.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1996.
