Shannon Smith '00

    - The first Boston College female athlete to win an NCAA Championship - the 2001 3,000-meter competition.

    - All-America honors in Cross-Country (1997), Outdoor Track (2000) and Indoor Track (2001); New England Cross-Country champion in 1999.

    - Established Boston College records in the indoor 3,000-meter (9:11.25) run and in the outdoor 5,000-meter (16:13.39) events.

    - Winner of 2001 Nathaniel J. Hasenfus "Eagle of the Year" Award as outstanding female athlete in her graduating class.

    - Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
