Leslie Bjerstedt Shearstone '89
- A hard-working and multi-talented player, she
contributed 1,084 points and 548 rebounds in her 114
varsity games.
- Was a member of Boston College's first women's
basketball team to advance to the Big East
Tournament's title game (1987); that team holds the
school record for highest single-season scoring
average (74.7 ppg).
- The first female athlete at Boston College to earn
Strength and Conditioning All-America honors; as
team captain in 1988-89, she also captured All-Big East
Conference and All-Big East Tournament accolades.
- Winner of the 1989 Nathaniel J. Hasenfus "Eagle of the
Year" Award as the outstanding female athlete in her
graduating class.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Atheltic
Hall of Fame in 2005.
