Rich Scudellari '78
- A shining example of the term "Scholar-Athlete", he was an
All-East selection at linebacker and was Boston College's
first National Football Foundation Scholarship recipient.
- He was a First Team Academic All-America honoree; winner of
an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship; football team co-captain
as a senior; and winner of the Scanlan Award as outstanding
scholar-athlete among senior football players.
- On the field, his achievements were equally notable. An
intense competitor and sure tackler, he set a Boston College
single game tackle record (32) against the Texas Longhorns.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Atheltic Hall
of Fame in 1995.
