Sherman V. Saltmarsh, Jr. '53

-   A hard-nosed, tenacious defensive player whose efforts were 
    instrumental in Boston College's three-year record of 41-15 
    during his varsity career. 

-   A "walk-on" selected to the varsity squad by Coach "Snooks" 
    Kelley ahead of the scholarship players for his determined 
    play. 

-   Charter member of the Blue Chips and for Treasurer of the 
    Varsity Club, he has provided long and loyal service to the 
    Boston College Eagles. 

-   Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall 
    of Fame in 1991.
