Betsy Ready '87
- A truly superlative mid-fielder, she was the first Boston
College athlete ever to earn All-America honors in each of
her four varsity seasons.
- Led her team to two appearances in the NCAA Championship
Tournament and high national ranking.
- Elected team captain as a senior.
- Also an excellent student, she twice won "Academic All-
America" honors and was awarded an NCAA Post-Graduate
Scholarship in recognition of her outstanding athletic and
academic accomplishments.
- Named winner of the Nathaniel J. Hasenfus "Eagle of the
Year" Award as the outstanding female student athlete in her
graduating class and was named "Female Athlete of the
Decade" by The Heights for the 1980's.
- Returned to Boston College as an assistant soccer coach
before she became head coach at Seattle University.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1993.
