Frank Power '43
- Power is among the most celebrated men in the annals of BC
basketball as he spent 32 years as a scout, recruiter and
assistant to six different head coaches.
- He also served as head coach for the 1962-63 season, while
Bob Cousy played his final NBA season.
- Today, the Frank Power Award is presented annually to the BC
player who exemplifies the spirit and love for Boston
College that was characteristic of coach Power. In addition,
the current team practices in Power Gymnasium, another
tribute to a man whose dedication to his alma mater will
always be remembered.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1975.
