Grattan O'Connell '26
- A true "Iron Man" who started every game of his four-year
football career at Boston College.
- An outstanding offensive and defensive end, he specialized
in blocking opponents' kicking attempts, once blocking six
in a five-game span.
- His fine play earned him All-America honors in his junior
season.
- Also a formidable basketball player for the Eagle hoop teams
of that era.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1971.
