Tara McKenna '87
- An All-America breaststroker and medley relay swimmer, she
captured a school record 115 career victories.
- Was four-time NCAA Division II champion in the 100- and 200-
yard breaststroke competition and qualified for the NCAA
Division I championships four times.
- An eight-time BIG EAST champion, she was the
Conference "Swimmer of the Year" in 1986.
- Also won six New England and 10 Eastern titles.
- Established Boston College and New England records in the
50-, 100-, and 200-yard breaststroke events and the 200- and
400- yard medley relays.
- New England College Athletic Conference Division I "Female
Athlete of the Year" in 1987.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1992.
