Mike Mayock '80
- A versatile athlete who played football and baseball at BC
from 1976-80 and was a team captain in both sports.
- Earned third team All-America honors and first team All-East
honors following the 1980 football season.
- Named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.
- Named the Thomas F. Scanlan Award winner, which is given to
a senior football player who exhibits outstanding
scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability.
- Posted 12 career interceptions, including two against
Stanford in a 30-13 BC win over the Cardinals in 1980.
- In baseball, he earned All-New England, All-East, and team
MVP honors during his senior season.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 2001.
