Michael Martin '94
- One of the greatest hitters to wear Boston College's Maroon
and Gold, he finished his 147-game collegiate career with a
lofty .380 batting average and a school-record 205 hits.
- Was among the nation's leading batters as a junior (.462BA)
and senior (.441) and won All-America, All-Northeast Region
and All-BIG EAST honors for his outstanding play.
- Team Captain as a senior.
- After graduation, he played professional baseball in the
Detroit Tigers' organization and later returned to BC to
serve as assistant baseball coach.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 2003.
