Rev. Joseph Maguire '41

- An All-New England hockey defenseman, he was a key member of the 1940-41 team that finished 13-1 and won the Eastern Championship.

- In baseball, he was an outstanding shortstop on the successful Eagle teams of that era.

- Following his ordination to the priesthood in 1945, he served at a number of parishes in the Boston area. He was elevated to Auxiliary Bishop of Boston in 1972, and in 1976, was named Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield.

- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984.
