Rev. Kevin MacDonald '78
- One of the greatest hitters ever to wear the Boston College
uniform, he posted an impressive career batting average
of .407.
- As a senior, his .470 batting average was best in the East
and one of the top figures in all of college baseball. This
hard-hitting shortstop also led his team in home runs (5),
hits (39), doubles (7), and runs batted in (28).
- Signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates after graduation and
played six years of professional baseball before joining the
Redemption Order and becoming a Missionary Priest.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1994.
