John "Snooks" Kelley '28
"Dean of American College Hockey Coaches"
- Head Coach of Hockey at Boston College for 36 years (1932-42
and 1946-72).
- First coach in collegiate hockey history to surpass 500
career victories (501-243-15) and led Boston College to its
first national championship in 1949.
- Associated with the University for 60 years, his unbounded
spirit and warmth touched every corner of the Boston College
community.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1970.
