Joe Johnson '54
- Oustanding captain and running back for the Boston College
Eagles, he started all 27 games in his three-year varsity
career and led the Eagles in rushing in each of those
seasons. His 1,707 career yards were second-highest of any
Boston College rusher at that time.
- Capped his senior season with All-East honors and played in
the East-West Shrine Game.
- After graduation, he played seven years of professional
football with the Green Bay Packers and Boston Patriots.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1981.
