Mario Giannelli '48
- Outstanding middle guard for the 1942 Orange Bowl team, as
well as the 1946 and 1947 squads.
- A big, hard-hitting lineman who had the speed and quickness
of a running back.
- Only Eagle chosen to play in the 1948 College All-Star Game
in Chicago.
- Played in three consecutive College All-Star Games, first as
a collegian and later as a professional for the World
Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1991.
