- A highly-skilled and formidable defenseman, he twice earned All-East and All-New England recognition and, as a senior, was accorded Honorable Mention All-America honors.
- Boston College won 41 of 65 games while he was on the ice, including the 1957 Beanpot Championship and a berth in the 1956 NCAA Championship "Frozen Four."
- He won school honors as the Eagles' top freshman in 1953-54 and followed with the Norman F. Dailey Award in '56-57 as BC's most valuable player.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.
