Legendary Eagles among first-ever class inducted into the ECAC Hall of Fame

William J. Flynn '39

  • A lifetime of unfailing service to Boston College as a Student-Athlete, Teacher, Coach, and Administrator.
  • Won nine varsity letters in football, baseball, and hockey; Captain of the 1938 Eagle football team.
  • As Director of Athletics (1957-1991), his vision, dedication, integrity, and accomplishments have set a standard for all who participate, in any way, in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame in 1971.
