Eddie Doherty '44
- Was Boston College's starting quarterback in 1941, 1942, and
1943, and was Captain of the Eagles in his senior season.
- Quarterbacked the Eagles in the Orange Bowl on January 1,
1943.
- Selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game in January,
1944.
- Enjoyed a distinguished coaching career at the high school,
collegiate, and National Football League levels.
- Was named "New England Coach of the Year" while at Holy
Cross in 1971.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1986.
