Gilmour Dobie
- Capped a magnificent coaching career with three seasons at
Boston College in which his teams were 16-6-5. Overall, his
record was 180-45-10 in 32 years as a head coach.
- Although he was nicknamed "Gloomy Gil" for his pessimistic
appraisal of upcoming games, his teams were unsurpassed for
their mechanical perfection and play execution.
- Coach Dobie is also enshrined in the National Football
Foundation Hall of Fame.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1970.
