Bob Cousy
- After winning six NBA championships in his final seven
seasons with the Boston Celtics, "The Houdini of the
Hardwood" brought his magic to the Heights, where he served
as the Eagles' head coach for six seasons.
- Cousy compiled a 117-38 record at BC, including four 20-plus
victory seasons. The 1968-69 season was the pinnacle of the
Cousy era, as the Eagles went 24-4 and won 19 consecutive
games, reaching the NIT finals.
- While at BC, Cousy brought in such talent as John Austin,
Terry Driscoll, Billy Evans and Jim O'Brien, and his
contributions brought new standards in hoop success to
Chestnut Hill.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1970.
