Assistant Athletics Director/Operations

Matt Conway was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director/Operations in January of 2007. His responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day event operations for 12 varsity sports programs, including football, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's ice hockey, baseball, and softball. He also supervises event staff and guest services for events held in Alumni Stadium and Conte Forum, coordinates postseason operations for Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA Championship events, and works with central campus on various athletics department projects.

Matt joined Boston College as part of the Flynn Recreation Complex staff in September of 2004. As the Manager of Intramural and Club Sports he managed all aspects of the Intramural and Club Sport programs at Boston College. The Intramural Sports program runs over 30 leagues and tournaments that generate about 6500 participants, and the Club Sports program is made up of 21 different sports organizations that compete on a variety of competition levels. In June of 2006, he took on a larger role within the Flynn Complex management team when he became the Assistant Director of Recreation for Intramural and Club Sports.

Prior to his arrival, Matt served for two years as the Manager of Athletic Facilities at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. At Seton Hall, his responsibilities consisted of management of the daily operations of the Richard Regan Recreation and Athletic Center and Owen T Carol Soccer/Baseball field. Duties also included management of the Inter-collegiate Athletic, Recreation and University Events.

Before Seton Hall, Matt spent three years as the Director of Instructional Programs at The Hoop Group. The Hoop Group is the largest basketball event management company on the east coast and currently operates the Nations #1 Instructional Basketball Camp, Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp. Responsible for all aspects of the operation and management of Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp, he joined The Hoop Group in the Fall of 1998 immediately following his graduation from Wilkes University.

Matt is originally from Wilkes Barre, Penn. He currently resides in Sharon with his wife Meghan and sons Owen, Liam and Ryan.
