Eddie Burns '46
- A skilled quarterback in football and daring wing in hockey,
his promising varsity career was shortened by military
service with the United States Marine Corps during World War
II.
- Was a member of the 1942 Orange Bowl team as well as the
1942 BC hockey club that captured the AAU National
Championship.
- Following graduation, he embarked on a highly-successful
secondary school coaching career, leading Arlington (Mass.)
High School to numerous state and league championships in
both football and hockey.
- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall
of Fame in 1987.
