Mel Briggs '74

- A lightning-quick and sure-handed wide receiver, he set a Boston College football record at the time of his graduation with 88 career catches in three varsity seasons.

- The first Eagle pass-receiver to score two touchdowns of more than 80-yards in length, he was on the receiving end of 10 TD passes in his BC career.

- After graduation, he played for the NFL's Detroit Lions before returning to Alma Mater as a graduate assistant football coach for two seasons.

- Inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.
