The "Screaming Eagles" Marching Band

With over 180 members, the Boston College Marching Band is the largest and most visible student organization at Boston College. Founded in 1919, the Eagles Band has traveled around the world to represent Boston College at football games, parades, and international celebrations. In addition to performances at college campuses throughout the country, the Band has performed at the Kickoff Classic in Giants Stadium (1995) and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City (1995). The BC Marching Band has also performed at several bowl games including the Tangerine Bowl (1982), Liberty Bowl (1983), Hall of Fame Bowl (1986, 1993), Cotton Bowl (1985), Carquest Bowl (1994), Insight.com Bowl (1999), Aloha Bowl (2000), Music City Bowl (2001), San Francisco Bowl (2003), and Champs Sports Bowl (2007). International appearances include the Japan Bowl in Yokohama, Japan (1985) and the Emerald Isle Classic in Dublin, Ireland (1988).

At home, the Boston College Marching Band is the catalyst that unites and charges the crowd during game day. Performing in front of 45,000 enthusiastic BC fans, the Marching Band leads the cheers and focuses the energy of the game in support of the Eagles. One hour prior to each home game, the Marching Band performs a concert "Peptacular!" on the north steps of Conte Forum before parading into the stadium. Upon entering the stadium, the Band performs a pre-game show and the National Anthem and then moves into the stands for the start of the show. Over the years, the Eagles Band and the Superfans have created one of the most dynamic and engaging college football atmospheres in the country. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit of ESPN have called the BC Marching Band an "Excellent Band... Number One Seed" and "The Best Band You've Ever Heard at GameDay!" At the conclusion of every game, the Marching Band plays "Alma Mater" as the team raises gold helmets to the sky.

The "Maroon & Gold" Pep Band

Contributing to our tremendous home court advantage in Conte Forum is the Maroon & Gold Pep Band. The Pep Band brings raw energy and an appetite for distraction to each visiting team. Between verses of "For Boston," the Pep Band rallies the Superfans with vociferous support of the Eagles Hockey and Basketball programs. In addition to performances at each home game, the Pep Band frequently travels with the Eagles to tournaments and post-season events. One of the favorite venues for the Pep Band is the annual "Beanpot" Tournament held in the Boston Garden. Other exciting NCAA venues for the Pep Band include the "March Madness" Basketball Tournament and the "Frozen Four" Hockey Tournament.
