Chestnut Hill, Mass - Boston College's student-athletes from the Class of 2013 gathered with their families for a reception on BC's Bapst Library lawn on Saturday afternoon to celebrate their achievements.

Along with Director of Athletics Brad Bates, President William P. Leahy, S.J. spoke, as well as women's tennis player senior Ina Kauppila. Alison Quandt, Student-Athlete Development Director, helped plan and execute the event.

Bates noted the graduating class won seven national championships and 15 conference championships during its time at the Heights, went to two bowl games, earned 20 invitations to the NCAA National Championship Tournament, never lost a men's ice hockey Beanpot game, won a prestigious Penn Relay title for the first time in school history and contained three students who were finalists for a national player of the year award. The senior class earned the first - and this year's second - invitation in school history to the NCAA National Championship women's lacrosse tournament, had four teams who didn't know a season without a postseason and contained four students who were the conference players of the year. The seniors also represented 97 percent student-athlete graduation success rate.

On Monday, May 20, 2013 the student-athletes joined the rest of the Class of 2013 in graduating from Boston College in Alumni Stadium.
