Ainslee Lamb

Head Coach
Boston College Field Hockey

Coach Lamb has just completed her 8th season as Head Coach of the Boston College Field Hockey Program. She took over a program that was heading into its inaugural year in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the home of nine of the last 12 national champions. In 2012, the BC team posted a 10-9 record, placing them consistently in the Top 20 of the National Rankings. Lamb has earned the USA Field Hockey's Level III coaching accreditation, which is the highest coaching level that can be obtained USFHA. To add to her accomplishments, Lamb has served as the Head Coach of the USA Under-17 & Under-21 Junior National Teams. Lamb has also coached the New England High Performance Training Center from 2007 to 2012, competing with a select team at the National Championship held in Virginia Beach, Virginia. IN 2010, the United States Olympic Committee awarded Lamb with the USA Field Hockey Developmental Coach of the Year Award. Lamb was also named the Northeast Region Coach of the Year in 2009.

 
 

Kelly Doton

Associate Head Coach
Boston College

The Boston College field hockey program welcomes Kelly Doton as the team's new associate head coach in 2012. Doton comes to BC from Indiana University, where she had been coaching since 2008. Doton, a native of Greenfield, Mass., was an assistant coach for four seasons before being named the associate head coach of the Hoosiers in 2011. In 2009, she was instrumental in helping Indiana reach the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history, after finishing second in league standings and reaching the Big Ten Tournament title game.

A 2004 graduate of Wake Forest, Doton was an asset to the Demon Deacons on both sides of the ball during her collegiate career, helping to lead her squad to back-to-back NCAA championships. Providing her team with her disciplined defensive skills, as well as quickly establishing herself as one of the best attack corner hitters in the country, she was honored as the 2003 Honda Award winner, as the National Field Hockey Player of the Year. In addition to being named the ACC Player of the Year in 2002, she was also a two-time NFHCA First-Team All-American and a three-time All-ACC honoree during her career.

In addition to her collegiate playing experience, Doton was a member of the U.S. Women's Senior National Team from 2005-10. In 2008, she was part of the U.S. squad that traveled to the Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. She began her career with Team USA on the New Zealand Tour and scored her first international goal against Australia in 2005.

Prior to playing at Wake, Doton was a standout at Greenfield High School, where she broke the school's scoring record as a senior and was tabbed as the team's MVP in 1999. She earned all-league honors in 1997 and 1998, in addition to being named to the All-Western Massachusetts Squad. She also earned Northeastern All-American honors as a sophomore.

 

Carolyn Cahill

Goalkeeping Coach
Boston College

Carolyn Cahill just completed her 8th season as an assistant coach on the Eagle staff. She's responsible for all aspects of coaching the Eagle goalkeepers. Cahill's list of Boston College Goalkeeping alums include Kristine Stigas, who in 2010, posted 5 shut outs and 1.44 goals against average, and was named to the 2009 NFHCA Second-Team All Northeast Region. All-ACC goalie Julia Berkowitz who earned All-Northeast Regional accolades and was named a third-team All-American in 2007 and second-team All-Northeast Region in 2008. Berkowitz has compiled a 35-19 record under Cahill's guidance and made 301 career saves. In the summer of 2008, Cahill served as the goalie coach for the New England High Performance Team that won the Championship at the Field Hockey National Championships in Virginia Beach, VA. This fall she coached BC freshmen goalie, Leah Settipane to 4 shut outsand 1.96 Goals against average

 

Jill Putnam

Assistant Coach
Boston College Field Hockey
Camp Administrator

This is Jill Putnam's second year as an assistant coach at the Heights. Before Boston College, Putnam worked for Windy City Field Hockey in Chicago as the Director of Player and Program Development. In her role, Putnam created campaigns, such as the Roots Program, which focused on developing skills for first through fifth graders, and the Stride Program, which provided small group training for club and high school players. In addition to directing both of these programs, she also acted as the head coach. Putnam was also involved with matters of facilities, marketing and sales for Windy City.

Putnam played her collegiate career at Northwestern, where she finished with 46 points, including six game-winning goals. In 2005, she was the nation's leading freshman goal scorer with 11. Putnam earned Big Ten Athlete of the Week accolades in her freshman and junior seasons, as well as Big Ten All-Academic honors as a junior. During her tenure at Northwestern, Putnam also received the Howard Award for all-around excellence.

Putnam, a native of Greenfield, Mass., attended Greenfield High School and earned All-America Second-Team accolades after leading her team in scoring for four years. She was a four-year, All-Northern League selection and a member of the All-Western Massachusetts Scholastic Team from 2001-04.

Jill is an active coach for the Futures and Futures Elite development programs. She also administrated the New England High Performance Training center in 2012.
